World-wide coverage

We want everyone to share our website. One way to do so is making it available in a whole range of languages. Now that we have added in German we provide a grand total of five. East and West – we’ve got it covered!

Keep in the loop. Always be sure to check out our blog for all the latest updates from Studio Sitges.

High performance

High performance

Studio Sitges were delighted to welcome some leading-edge companies last weeks to use the full spectrum of our facilities.

Our most recent client was Audi, manufacturer of top-end cars, so only a top-end venue would hack it. We had a fantastic evening of it and we will remember the occasion for a very long time.

Here are the pictures to give a flavour of it all!

Synergy

Synergy

When two or more people get together and achieve more than they could achieve separately, that’s synergy. Here at Studio Sitges we had a great example of it recently when a high-end European fashion house wanted a leading photographer. And he wanted the best possible venue for the shoot.

Philip James has an outstanding reputation. It goes even beyond his work in fashion and portraiture to include a major architectural and interiors aspect.

This link will show you all about it. We would love to tell you more about the client but our lips are sealed.

Our new baby

Our new baby

Are you thinking of shooting in a sandstorm? Or maybe in the middle of a monsoon? That’s no problem for the latest addition to our range of top-specification equipment.

Now we have Sony HXR-NX70 – the Water Baby - with CVP Camshower System for Rainproof Capability. This robust baby has a bright future ahead of it. It will stand up to conditions that would finish off any other camcorder. It has an integrated 10x optical zoom 'G' lens with a focal range of 3.8-38mm, the equivalent of a 26mm lens on a 35mm camera which gives impressive wide angle shots.

A full HD image consists of less than 2.2 million pixel. This baby is equipped with a very grown-up 1/2.88" Exmor-R CMOS sensor with 6.6 million pixels!

Want to shoot a disaster movie? You can make a success of it by using our wind and rain machines and filming it all with the Sony at Studio Sitges.

This will blow you away!

Shower power

Lights, camera - and cue tropical downpour.

We are almost swept away by the latest addition to our facilities. We have just installed a 9-head rain shower in Studio A. There no need for rain dances any more when we want to get wet-look effects. Hot or cold water cascades down 5 metres to the happy models underneath. Now the Studio’s climate control is exactly what it says.

So whether you want to shoot a wet wet wet music video or a fashion show with a sprinkling of glamour, Studio Sitges is the place to book.

Contact us now before we are deluged with enquiries and don’t forget your umbrella.
Swimsuits optional.

Now available - Tom Kundig book “Houses 2”

Now available - Tom Kundig book “Houses 2”

Read all about it

Photographers and others worldwide were asked, “What would be your ideal working environment?” From this input we knew Studio Sitges needed the best architect. We found him. It was Tom Kundig.

Now his just published book “Houses 2” tells the story of a three years’ collaboration. It shows the outcome of the monumental planning and discussion that went into the creation of the purpose-built Studio and the House that goes with it.

Tom is actively redefining the grammar of architecture. For example you can see it in the House’s wood and iron staircases, the positioning of the pool, doors that open in different ways and the curved outside architectural line that goes all the way through the bathrooms of the suites.

The book and its pictures reveal why Seattle-based Tom Kundig continues his meteoric rise. Over the last five years he has gained a world-wide reputation for an innovative balance of raw materials with modernist design. Nowadays he collects numerous awards including the 2011 “World Architecture News House of the Year Award” for his design of The Pierre in Seattle and “Residential Architect’s Project of the Year award” for Art Stable in Washington State.

You can see the result in pictures from the book attached here.

So why go to such great lengths? It’s so that you can have the world’s finest Studio available to you.

This month’s Special Feature

Epson HD/1080p Projector with 8m+ wide screen

Here at Studio Sitges we have the capability to project up to 8 meters width in our cyclorama or even bigger if you want more space. And your images can be projected on the fly via your laptop while you are shooting tethered.

Using super-resolution technology, our in-house projector can actually increase resolution and detail. The highest contrast ratio on the market brings you a real-life cinema and video experience.

Just think what all this could do for your conference and workshop presentations!

The best just got better.

By Regina September 14, 2011
The best just got better.

We are talking about the new IQ180 system from Phase One.

Come to think of it, it’s true of Studio Sitges too because this fantastic new advance is now available on request to our Studio clients. This leading-edge equipment is now our in-house system and we are blown away by what it can do.

It has received rave reviews from the professional press and we can vouch for the fact that it lives up to them. “Digital Photographer” magazine says “It cannot be faulted….. for those at the top of their game”. “Luminous Landscape” describes it as “The most significant advance since the first untethered back.” And “PDN” talk of “the best image quality of any medium format system, bar none.”

If all this sounds like what you’ve been waiting for and now you are itching to get your finger on the button, then it’s here for you right now at Studio Sitges.

Architectural Digest September 2011

Architectural Digest September 2011

Where we live

Studio Sitges is making more waves. We are not only producing fine photo art work. The Studio is a work of art in its own right. That’s the view of “Architectural Digest” magazine. This is the bible of the world of architectural design and Studio Sitges is deeply proud of this endorsement.

The September ’11 issue has a full scale feature with the whole story and images to show what Studio Sitges achieved with the renowned architect Tom Kundig. Take a look at what has attracted their admiration.

Above ground, below ground, inside and outside the Studio works in all the ways it was meant to. It’s good to know that such a prestigious authority as “Architectural Digest” magazine thinks so too.

The Delta

The Delta

The Delta

Studio Sitges is so much more than a photo rental studio. We do total production management. One of our specialties is spotting that perfect location. Today we are introducing El Delta de l’Ebre. This is the delta of the River Ebro, only 90 minutes’ drive south of Sitges. The coastal length is around 50km and the delta plain is no more than 4 or 5m above sea level. The shoreline is formed by long sandy beaches with dunes topped by long grass and two striking sand barriers at each end. This area is famous for its seclusion and its bird life including flamingo colonies. We took a helicopter ride over this spectacular area last week, and the images are spectacular. For more information about access and permissions for this location, please contact Studio Sitges.

Studio Sitges and Phase ONE

Studio Sitges and Phase ONE

Quite a compliment

Everyone knows that Studio Sitges is at the very top. Here’s more proof. The people who make the most advanced gear in the business came to us for the facilities they wanted when they shot their own publicity. Phase One are the leaders when it comes to professional digital camera systems. Their new IQ range of digital backs is simply the best there is.

We handled all aspects of the production management for this project. One of the reasons it worked so well was that we could host the whole Phase One family in our 5 en-suite bedrooms. That way everyone could live and breathe the assignment through to completion.

The IQ range was first used here in Studio Sitges in January ‘11. Listen here to 3 major photographers talk about their impressions.

Accept in Studio Sitges

By Rodney January 26, 2011
Accept in Studio Sitges

Sound stage

Heavy metal band Accept showed up at Studio Sitges to shoot the promo video for their new album “Blood of the Nations”.

Studio Sitges is now the go-to venue for a whole range of photo projects. With Accept we handled the whole deal right through production management and post-production. Big jobs are what we do. So we developed the concept and drew up the story-boards. We hand-picked the crew and mapped out the seven camera set-up. Our stuntman used the Studio Sitges mascot car – the Black Beast.

It all came together perfectly and we had a ball while we were at it.

Studio Sitges Opening

Studio Sitges Opening

Our debut

Studio Sitges showed just how versatile it is when we shot two contrasting sessions at the same time. An editorial with American Apparel took place in Studio A. At the same time, in Studio B Barcelona's Hells Angels showed us how tough they can be in an epic session of pictures for their club house walls.

Everybody, but everybody, showed up. Production companies, model agencies and other photographers all wanted to see what's on offer. Studio Sitges is open for business in a big way.

Road test

Now Studio Sitges is built, it’s time to see that it works. To check this out we invited the internationally renowned Kenneth Linge to host a workshop for 14 Norwegian photographers. Day one was a fashion shoot in the Studio. The next day took in some outdoor venues as well as locations around Barcelona before coming back to Studio Sitges. The verdict is in. “ It’s superb”.

Party

By Rodney June 19, 2009
Party

Thanks, guys!

Everyone worked so hard on the Studio Sitges project that we had to finish off this stage in style. We came up with the idea of a Mexican party and it really rocked from the very start. First we needed to let everyone know about it. No problem - everyone wanted in. The guys on the site posed for the Mexican wrestling style poster and it took off from there. The food, the drink and, best of all, the company were a great climax to the time spent working together at Studio Sitges.

Building the Studio

By Rodney June 08, 2008
Building the Studio

It's taking shape.

Building Studio Sitges is more than just a complex technical task. It's also a fantastic creative achievement. We are putting together the ideas of a group of photographers and all kinds of other experts. The question we asked them was “What would be your ideal studio?” This is their answer. Now it is up to the craftsmen to use their skills to make it a reality. It is hard work for everyone to get it completely right but it is well worth it. Every day at Studio Sitges is more progress and another problem solved. That’s the way we are going to keep on.
