Sitges Artistic History
Sitges was a small fishing village but by the end of the 19th century it had developed into a haven for artists mainly because of the climate of the town and also its vibrant light. Artists such as Santiago Rusiñol. Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miro, Joan Batlle Amell , Antoni Almirall, Joan Roig i Soler and Arcadi Mas i Fontdevila have all been associated in some way to Sitges.
Utopian Sitges – what a great mix!
Both the heterosexual and gay communities really do blend together and everyone feels completely relaxed to be themselves with many of the straight and gay owned businesses adopting an open door policy without prejudice over sexual orientation - now how refreshing is that! |
